About me

Joanne Cox - Counsellor in Bristol

My background was working for a national company within Human Resources. Having embarked upon my own personal journey, which has seen me working within the voluntary sector for a number of years, supporting people in emotional distress, led me to my career as a counsellor.

I am a qualified counsellor, having studied at the University of Bristol and am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).  I am bound by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and its Professional Code of Conduct.

I work as an integrative counsellor, which means I don’t have a one size fits all approach. I believe we are all unique individuals, who come into counselling for different reasons and want different things from it. My role as your counsellor is to work with you in a way that best meets your needs.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues and concerns and am comfortable working with people from all walks of life, regardless of gender, sexuality, culture or religion.

I consider that I have been privileged to walk alongside and work with people as they grapple with the issues of ‘life'. This leads me to passionately believe in our capacity to heal, to grow and to achieve our full potential.
